The name of the orange 2021 Puesta en Chus is a pun on the Puesta en Cruz variety and his local nickname, because the grape was not authorized and could not be mentioned but it is now, the same as they call Rabigato in Portugal (Douro). Its only 11% alcohol and has a pH of 3.39 with 5.8 grams of acidity. It comes from eight-year-old vines on granite soils, and the clusters fermented in full in plastic bins with a 12-day maceration before being moved to well-seasoned, neutral 225-liter barrels and 1,000-liter oak foudre where it was kept for six months. It has a deep golden color and is a bit cloudy, and it has an expressive nose of yellow berry fruit. Its a little tropical and round, different from the wine done in a direct press from the grape that I tried from 2020. Its very tasty and grows in the glass. Characterful, trying to find the true character of the grape in the granite. 2,900 bottles were filled March 2022.
